What is a rooftop photovoltaic system
A rooftop PV plant is a type of photovoltaic system, and the various components of such a system include photovoltaic modules, mounting systems, cables, solar inverters, and other electrical accessories.
Rooftop PV plants (grid-connected or off-grid) can be used in conjunction with other power generation components (e.g., diesel generators, wind turbines, batteries, etc.). These solar hybrid systems may be able to provide a continuous source of power.
Features of rooftop photovoltaic system
1. Low pollution and outstanding environmental benefits Rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project in the power generation process, there is no noise, and will not cause pollution to the air and water.
2. Help generate electricity and use electricity coexist. Large ground power station power generation is boosted access to the transmission grid, only as a power station and run; and roof distributed photovoltaic power generation is boosted access to the distribution grid, power generation, coexistence of electricity, and the requirements of local consumption as far as possible.
3. The output power is relatively small. Generally speaking, the capacity of a rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project is within a few kilowatts. Unlike centralized power plants, the size of a PV power plant has little impact on the efficiency of power generation, and therefore on its economics, and the return on investment of a small PV system is not lower than that of a large one.
What are the conditions to be met when installing a rooftop photovoltaic system on the roof?
1. There is an independent roof or roof property rights that are clear.
2. The roof has enough light: a power station is generally installed on the south-facing roof to better ensure that there is enough light every day; furthermore, trees, poles, low walls, and other external obstacles will affect the sun's rays, the installation of these factors needs to be taken into account before.
3. The roof has enough area: the roof area is a more intuitive factor; a rough estimate is a 3 KW system installation area of 22 ~ 35 square meters, a 4 KW system of 30 ~ 50 square meters, and a 5 KW system of 45 ~ 60 square meters.
4. The roof has sufficient load-bearing capacity: the roof load-bearing problem in a PV power plant design must be taken into account at the initial stage.
What are the installation methods for PV power plant on the roof?
There are three main categories of roofs: color steel tile roofs, masonry roofs, and flat-roofed concrete roofs. In these three types of roof structures, there is a big difference; even if it is the same area, the installation of photovoltaics is not the same.
Slope roof installation
1. Photovoltaic modules are mainly installed overhead along the slope. The photovoltaic array is laid parallel to the roof, and the bracket uses steel embedded parts to fix the beams in a lattice;
2. The vertical distance between the photovoltaic modules installed on the slope bracket and the roof meets the installation and ventilation and heat dissipation clearance requirements (the overhead distance is generally 150~200mm).
The method used is to increase the connection position where the fixed points are connected. The bricks and tiles have a certain thickness, thus forming a certain space. It must be filled with sealant before and after fixing to avoid the risk of water leakage.
Flat roof installation
1. The structural selection of a flat roof can be based on the actual completion surface of the roof, and the corresponding bracket system can be selected. The support system generally consists of four parts: columns, foundations, inclined beams and beams. The battery assembly is connected to the crossbeam through fasteners. (Weight: 0.35~0.50kN/㎡)
2. Installation inclination angle: The inclination angle corresponding to the maximum local annual power generation is used as the installation inclination angle of the bracket.
3. Common house structure forms: cast-in-place concrete frame and floor slab, steel structure + cast-in-place concrete floor slab, brick-concrete structure + prefabricated floor slab;
Common roof finishes: waterproof membrane, cement mortar protection layer, ceramic tile.
Color steel roof installation
Color steel roofs are generally used in family factories or large industrial plants. The difference between its installation method and the slope roof is that the installation method of the support is different. The color steel roof is a color steel plate with a clamp on it, which is clamped on it for support. Its function is to install the installation angle along the roof slope. If the structural bearing capacity of the roof can be met, the inclination angle can be raised to increase the installation angle.
What are the precautions when installing rooftop photovoltaic system?
The installation conditions of the roof should be determined to utilize the area, shading, waterproofing, load-bearing and so on:
1.Examining the location of the roof PV square array:
- (1) Roof structure (fixed bracket, to ensure waterproofing);
- (2) Determine the purlin spacing, direction and size distance;
- (3) Determine the layout of components according to the roof structure ;
- (4) Fix the bracket according to the structure of the roof to ensure waterproofing.
2. Do a good job of waterproofing:
When installing PV systems, first make sure that they are installed in a way that avoids damaging the roof. The roof with a waterproof layer needs to avoid perforation; a colored steel roof with perforation needs to use waterproof glue or rubber mat.
3.Component length and width of the placement:
installation, components according to the roof area to determine the component length and width of the placement, component long side perpendicular to the keel, saving bracket costs. Reserve the width of the alignment slot when installing.
